Holy Matrimony

Holy Matrimony

The Sacrament of Marriage is a covenant, which is more than a contract. Covenant always expresses a relationship between persons. The marriage covenant refers to the relationship between the husband and wife, a permanent union of persons capable of knowing and loving each other and God. The celebration of marriage is also a liturgical act, appropriately held in a public liturgy at church. Catholics are urged to celebrate their marriage within the Eucharistic Liturgy.

At least nine to twelve months in advance, contact Father Tim to arrange for the date of your wedding BEFORE finalizing any other plans. Four meetings* are required:

  • Meeting #1 – Reception and Assessment
  • Meeting #2 – Administrative/Collection of all Required Data
  • Meeting #3 – Planning of the Liturgy
  • Meeting #4 – Finalization and Rehearsal

*this does not include Pre-Cana, which must be completed separately.

One month prior to the wedding date, the couple will meet with our Director of Music, Mr. John Dominick, III.

Please note: The Church of the Magdalene accepts couples who are not registered members of the Parish. Couples may also wish to bring their own priest/deacon.
